Celebrating Twenty-Five Years of Making Music Together
21st Annual Madrigal Concert!
Leelanau Childrens Choir and Leelanau Youth Ensemble will present their 21st annual Madrigal Christmas Concert on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 pm, at the Northport Community Arts Center. The singers open the Christmas season with a performance of classic Christmas music, both traditional and contemporary, performed in the manner and costume of a medieval feast. The two groups bring together nearly 40 students from schools all over the county. “Every year I revise and reweave the program to best challenge the children’s voices,” says choir director Margaret Bell. “The result is a concert that has become a community and family tradition. The singers hone their singing skills and concert etiquette while performing the season’s most beautiful music.” Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students, and are available at Leelanau Books in Leland, at The Painted Bird in Suttons Bay, at Dog Ear Books in Northport, and at the Northport Community Arts Center.
